Adobe programs are the international standard in design. Adobe is loved by professional designers and media agencies because of the unlimited possibilities of the programs. Adobe has a Software As A Service model. You pay a monthly amount that gives you access to all programs, all mobile apps, free updates and much more. If you ever collaborate with a designer, you can assume that the Adobe programs will be used.
The Affinity programs are becoming increasingly well-known. Especially for small self-employed people who do not use the programs often, it is in many cases a good alternative. You only pay once for a version of the program. You get small updates for free until a big update is released. For that new version you have to pay the same amount again. Although the programs contain fewer options, they are often sufficient. Photo is the Affinity’s counterpart for Photoshop and Designer for Illustrator. Affinity’s counterpart for InDesign is called Publisher.
